SILIKAAT GROUP is a group of companies that belong to Estonian capital and are Estonian-owned. The oldest of these companies is AS Silikaat, whose trademark has been recognised since 1910. Also, the name SILIKAAT comes from the name of the main product, sandlime (calcium silicate) brick, produced by the Group's oldest company. At present, the Group consists of 13 different companies. The majority of them were founded between 1994 and 2003. This is the result of rapid economic growth that started after Estonia regained independence, privatisation, land and property reform and the active development of the owner of the Group enterprises during this momentous period.

SILIKAAT ENTERPRISES mainly specialise in industry, agriculture, trade, real estate development, and investments. SILIKAAT GRUPP AS was founded in 1998 with the objective of achieving better planning and coordination of business activities, joint investments and implementation of supervision, and is not a typical holding structure.

The sales of the Group enterprises totalled EUR 25 million in 2004. The companies employ 556 workers. Successful business has increased the profit 14,7 times in the last five-six years. From 1998 until 2004, the Group invested a total of EUR 25 million in different projects. Own production is mainly sold in Estonia and, in smaller quantities, also in Latvia, Finland and Sweden. The Group enterprises are operating in Tallinn, Harju County and Viljandi County.
